For RSD, Die Kreuzen rereleasing “Cows and Beer” on 7″/12″ vinyl on Beer City!

Rush Mor Records has a good reputation in town as Milwaukee’s longest-running record shop.

But it’s not every day that owner Dan DuChaine gets calls from Minnesota, St. Louis, Philadelphia, Germany, Greece and France.

That’s because Rush Mor is hosting a special in-store appearance with Dan Kubinski and Keith Brammer — from the seminal, Milwaukee-born-and-bred, genre-jumping punk band Die Kreuzen — in celebration of the band’s newly restored and remastered debut, “Cows and Beer.”

The 1982 EP is being rereleased Saturday as a 7-inch record — plus there will be a limited 12-inch version packaged with a newly inked Die Kreuzen comic book — in coordination with Record Store Day, the increasingly popular, international celebration of vinyl at independent, bricks-and-mortar music retailers.

SPIN.com features new ROUGH FRANCIS’ video on Riot House Records!

March 31, 2014 spin.com

Detroit proto-punks DEATH had their career resuscitated thanks in part to the excellent documentary A Band Called Death, and now the sons of frontman Bobby Hackney are carrying that legacy forth with their own band, ROUGH FRANCIS. To celebrate the recent release of their debut full-length, Maximum Soul Power, the band — singer Bobby Jr., drummer Urian, guitarist Julian, bassist Steven Hazen Williams, and guitarist Paul Comegno — unveiled their new video for “Not a Nice Guy.” It’s helmed by Mark Covino, who co-directed A Band Called Death, and features mix of party shots and concert footage, with the Burlington, Vermont quintet crowd-surfing all over everything. (That said: they do seem like pretty nice guys.) Watch above, and pick up ROUGH FRANCISMaximum Soul Power via Riot House Records.
